Hi everyone,

Welcome to Academic Writing for Doctoral Students! My name is Sharon, and I am your course instructor this semester.

If you are reading this email, congratulations! It means you are successfully registered and connected to Moodle.

As we are gearing up for our first lesson this Thursday, May 30th at 14:30 in Ullman 708, I wanted to share some important information to help get you started. For a smooth introduction to the course, please log in to our course on Moodle and read the syllabus. Pay special attention to the following:

  • The breakdown of course requirements - compulsory assignments
  • The course structure
  • Attendance policies

This writing course combines lectures with hands-on tasks in a workshop style, so it's important to always bring your laptop to class. Also, please download a copy of the coursebook from the Moodle site, as we will be completing exercises included in the coursebook both in and out of class.

Please note: There will be a writing task during the first class session. Instructions will be uploaded onto the Moodle site and reviewed during class. Additionally, I will upload sign-up forms for the mandatory 1-1 session with me and for the presentations that will take place during the last class session.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me: sh.sharon@technion.ac.il.

If you are, or expect to be, in the reserves during the semester, please reach out.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Best,

Sharon
